Bannermans is located in the catacombs
of Edinburgh's Old Town, a part of town that was once blighted by plague. Given
a complete lack of quality medical care ("take these leeches and call me
in the morning if you're alive.") the whole area was given up as lost and
basically buried.
Many years later the myriad tunnels and chambers were once more exposed, as
people started moving back in to them. Bannermans is located at the heart of
this, which turned out to be a very good thing indeed. You see, stone doesn't
burn.
Just two years ago a large chunk of the Old Town was decimated by a massive fire which took out most of a city block. Bannermans escaped due to some very brave firemen in big red trucks, and by virtue of being tunnelled back into centuries old walls.
And yes, we have a ghost....

us. We'll need to hear a demo CD, or have heard you play in the past (pretty
much the standard deal really!) We take booking for most types of popular music
- rock, pop, blues, soul, funk, jazz etc. Even if you do something really off-the-wall,
it won't hurt to ask - the worst we'll say is 'sorry, no'!
We do not generally take bookings from under-18 bands.
